Grading of textual answers on exams

Human grading is necessary for textual answers to exam questions. It is important to have rubrics and to have backreaders. Via the use of a rubric, the grading of textual exam answers can usually be recorded in the form of data, e.g., as a series of check boxes that are recorded on-line or via mark-sense boxes on the exam answer sheet.
