Student work (assignments and exams) that is delivered to the
Departments is the most concrete indication of the knowledge and
skills we have imparted to our students.2.8We, therefore, need systems and policies for capture and on-line
retention of all student course work together with the corresponding
scores and feedback by instructors, graders, and TAs:
- to provide feedback for our continuous improvement process.
- to facilitate reporting to accreditation boards,
- to facilitate detection and prosecution of cheating,
- to facilitate resolution of grading disputes,
- to aid in providing feedback to students, e.g., to aid in
advising,2.9
- to allow instructors to more accurately target their
instruction ot the competencies and needs of their students by
reviewing the portfolios of the students, especially those
having difficulty,2.10
- to provide ideas for future offerings of courses.
