- The current system captures and and retains all work that is
turned in electronically via the TurnIn and BlackBoard systems.
All take-out assignments can be turned in that way.
- Paper remains important for synchronous proctored work, i.e.,
proctored exams concurrently taken by all students in a given
section.2.11
- When we deploy the on-line administration of tests, that data will
automatically be captured.2.12
The Department's copier is configured to also serve as a
30-pages-per-minute scanner. Except for the removal of staples, there
no more labor in scanning every page of every exam than in generating
those exams in the first place.2.13
We should capture not just the originals of the work, but also the
graders' reports and annotations. Cases where the graders markup the
work with red pens will require re-scanning.
The Department is working on automated grading systems for student
software projects. Those systems will automatically generate a report
that can be attached to the student work and possibly e-mailed to the
student.2.14
